Abstract
This painting relates to the territory by depicting the fragile intersection between natural ecosystems and human intervention in the Peruvian landscape. The work immerses the viewer in the dense, pulsating textures of the Amazon forest—only to reveal, at its heart, an engineered water system imposed onto the terrain. Figures with hoses spray water in coordinated gestures, suggesting both an effort to control and artificially reproduce nature. The title’s reference to a “model” underscores the temporary, even experimental, nature of these interventions—emphasizing the tension between environmental transformation and reversibility.
