Abstract
Sementerio is a series of abstract drawings that combine colored ink and semen on paper—residual traces of ejaculations whose imprint forms an organic record of the artist’s own body and that of the participating volunteers. The work reflects on sexed existence, emphasizing the notion of death—whether through the post-orgasmic fading of the self or the remnants of gametes, where the genetic archive is stored as fertile ground for other possible lives. This piece was created during the most critical moments of HIV transmission, when paranoia, doubt, and misinformation prevailed.
