Abstract
The artwork underscores the significance of Afro-Brazilian worldviews, emphasizing their intrinsic relationship with nature and the surrounding landscape. Through this visual narrative, the artist explores the intersection of the body and territory, weaving together cultural expressions and the environmental context within Brazil.
This is a photoperformance in which the artist herself performs as the “Niger Rivers Queen” with a sword and wearing a green African-inspired costume resembling the foliage of nature. The artist highlights the value of Afro-Brazilian worldviews and their connection to nature and the landscape.
